Wednesday Prayers: A Starting Place

Graduation is on Saturday, and I have literally no idea what my next step after that will be.

None.

There are a few possible next steps, but none of them can start immediately.  (We're talking about a year of lag time.)

My prayer today is just a simple, "What's next?"

I suspect I'm not alone in this one.

  1. I'm a seven. No! A four! Which means it goes to 11.4:59 PM

As usual, you are correct. You are not alone. I applaud you for your bravery though - you're taking steps towards an unknown "new" future and no matter where you land, I know you'll be smashing!
How about instead of "what's next?" you opt for "bring it on!"? Not that I would ever presume to tell anyone what or how they should pray. Just a thought.

Congratulations on your graduation!! It seems like just yesterday we were sitting side by side for our writing assessment. I remember the first words you ever spoke to me: "Are we to expect this kind of trouble from you in the future?" I've enjoyed every conversation since...

    1. I've enjoyed every conversation, too, 7/4! And, the confidence is very sweet-- thank you!

  2. A very wise man used to tell me often, "If you don't know what to do, don't do anything." I find that when it's time for me to know, I know. I just wish God's sense of when that time is aligned better with MY sense of when that time is. Peace to you in the waiting.

    1. That's pretty comforting, actually. Thanks, Bob.

  3. Shocked. I for one have carefully crafted a precise plan for my next 21 years.

"So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was."
