Wednesday Prayers: Rest

I haven't been sleeping well for the last couple of weeks, so when it came time for Wednesday Prayers, all I could think of was Compline.

Be present, O merciful God, and protect us through the hours of this night, so that we who are wearied by the changes and chances of this life may rest in your eternal changelessness.
-BCP, p. 133

Are you tired, too? Or feeling energized? Either way, leave a note in the comments, and I'll keep you in my prayers this week.

  1. Here I am in the wee, small hours of the morning, keeping vigil with monks and others who watch and wait.

My insomnia manifests as being able to sleep for 4-5 hours, and then being wide awake. In some ways, I treasure the quiet time. But it does lead to some exhaustion during the day.

  3. just back from 8 days at Wernersville where I tend not to sleep all that well, but come home refreshed all the same.

I hope for some peace to enter you and allow for some great nights of rest

"So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was."
