Wednesday Prayer: This Little Light of Mine

Hey, y'all! Many of you have been in my thoughts and prayers through Advent, but it's nice to be back sharing my prayers, and joining in yours.

Lately, I've been hearing two recurring themes from people:
  1. A yearning for joy
  2. Pressure to measure up

I've had "This Little Light of Mine" in my head all day. Doesn't this simple song cover both of these things? God has given to me my own light, and I'm going to delight in it. That's my prayer for myself and for those I love today.

How about you? How can I pray for you?

  1. Hi dear! Good to read you again. My hubby is having a lot of pain from what we thought was fibromyalgia...now it seems his rheumatoid factor is elevated. We see rheumatologist tomorrow. I'd appreciate prayers for him to be willing to do what's recommended...and if he should have RA, that might not be very much to his liking. :(

  2. You've got it, Mary Beth. (Holding the other highs and lows with you, too.)

  3. Like my blog title, yearning for God. Peace to you. Happy New Year!

"So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was."
