- A boss who respects me.
- A few coworkers who I really like.
- The kits.
- A generous husband (who volunteered to squire my mom around yesterday and today, since I don't have the vacation time to take while she's visiting).
- That my mom's luggage finally arrived, even if it was after midnight.
- A gorgeous, stormy fall day. Absolutely nothing feels as restorative as a good storm.
- Today's Friday.
- My cozy bright-blue sweater.
- The sense that, even though it's making me a bit crazy at the moment, I have a "permanent" job.
It's a slow start, but it's a start. Maybe I'll try to start substituting gratitude lists for gripes. We'll see how that goes...
That is a wonderful list!
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of Al-Anon's suggestion to make an ABC list of gratitude--something that starts with each letter of the alphabet. I always used my children's names, which took care of four.
ReplyDeleteGood idea--like David Steindl-Rast's book, "Gratefulness, the Heart of Prayer."
That's a lovely list. Fall finally arrived here this morning, and I'm thankful for my bright blue sweater, too!
ReplyDeleteDid you ever make the chess pie?
great list, big and small (great husband, blue sweater...)
ReplyDeleteDarn, no chess pie yet. I did apple this weekend.
